User-friendly story saver
The Story Saver for Instagram app takes a moment to walk first-time users through its
basic features and interface
, making users feel comfortable using this program. Once you log in to your Instagram account with this app, you can immediately see the list of people you follow and their most recent stories. Clicking an account will show you their active stories and there are four options to choose from: Save, Share, Repost, or Play.

Save
, you get to save the story content to your devices. The saved file is exactly as it appears in the user’s Instagram story–this includes stickers, captions, and effects they might’ve applied. For

, you can send the story content to other platforms, depending on which of them is supported by your device.
Repost
allows you to copy the content and post it on your own Instagram story, a news feed, or direct messaging. Lastly,
Play
lets you see the content as you would via the social media platform.
Also included in this app are the IG user’s
story highlights
, which are a user’s featured story content presented in the top row of the app. This means that whatever story content is available to a user’s
IG followers
, you can save, share, or repost. However, it is important to note that stories past their 24-hour mark, or those saved in the private Stories Archive, are
not accessible
with this app.
Proceed with caution
One limitation of the Story Saver for Instagram is that it is
not capable of working with IG Live
–saving, sharing, or reposting–through this app. IG Live is the social media platform’s live broadcast medium. While other video story content is easily accessible with the app, IG Live videos remain off-limits, even as the user reposts them after the live broadcast. Also, since it is a story saver app, it
doesn’t allow users to grab or download wall posts
from the accounts they follow.
Also, it is important that while the app allows you to freely download IG stories, it is inherently
illegal to download Instagram content
–especially videos–if you intend to share to repost them as your own. You may download them for
personal use
but if you plan to post them on a social media platform, make sure to give the proper attribution to the original owner of the material.
