since you must choose the best time to transform your racer.
Shift from a person to a car
At the start of Shape Shifting, you can transform your racer between a person and a car. The car is obviously faster, but the human runner has an advantage in
being able to climb stairs and walls
. That means you will need to keep on flipping between the two to complete the track.
Unlock more vehicles
As you complete levels, you'll be able to
transform into different vehicles
. The boat will take you speedily across the water. The helicopter lets you travel straight upwards but is slow when moving straight forwards. The hang-glider is handy if you want to sail straight over obstacles, though it can only be used at certain points.
A test of timing
Shape Shifting allows no way of steering left or right — you're trapped in a straight line. Because of this, the sole challenge is in
timing your transformations at the right moment
for maximum effect. For example, switching to a hang-glider after driving your car up a ramp will give you a better lift.
Easy after a while
Each level allows you to
upgrade your speed using your accumulated points
. After a few upgrades, you will be able to outstrip your rivals with very little challenge, making the game too easy. However, the
low difficulty and fun cartoon aesthetics
make the game appropriate for children.
