Lighter than air, without using air waves
Gallery Go exceeds in its goal of allowing users to view photos offline, to the point where it has almost no cloud syncing or other online functionality. Some users will consider this to be a blessing, but users who need online functionality sometimes will also want the companion Google Photos. The UI works very well, and all of the app's features are easy to access, though some features you might consider basic, like renaming, are less accessible. The app is good for basic editing, though some tools, like the Magic Wand tool, are not very effective compared to its competitors.
Function and form blended
In essence, Gallery Go strongly resembles its Internet-connected counterpart, Google Photos. This means that if you have used that app and like it, but want something less dependent on the Internet and data to function, this app will fit the bill. On the other hand, it's missing a few features; it's a well-designed app, but it's rough around the edges at times for this reason. Those looking for a lightweight app they can use to browse photos on their device will not be disappointed by Gallery Go.
